CERRO TRONADOR / REFUGIO MEILING (WITH OVERNIGHT STAY)

The Cerro Tronador raises 3478 meters above sea level, making it the tallest mountain in the National Park. It has 8 glaciers, 4 of them in the Argentine side. Today these glaciers occupy the summit of Cerro Tronador, a name that refers to the sound of the frequently falling seracs.

Refugio Otto Meiling is located between Castaño Overo and Alerce glaciers, located 2,000 meters above sea level. From there you can appreciate the majestic summit of Cerro Tronador. The track starts at Pampa Linda town, crossing rivers and beech forests until the rocky terrain starts. We pass by Castaño Overo Glacier viewpoint before reaching the refuge. We will provide snacks, dinner and breakfast at the same shelter (Otto Meiling)
