DAY 1:
Our day starts picking-up the passengers from their hotel at 8.00 AM and driving towards Pampa Linda that’s 80 km away.
Once there, we start our trekking following the car track that takes us to Castaño Overo river. We cross it and follow the road until we reach the Alerce river. The road continues always bordering the river where we stop to eat in order to recover some energy and rest for a while. We arrive at a bridge that crosses that river. After that, the road begins to climb with more slope until we reach the “snail” (rise with a zigzag shape with steep slope).
Afterward, the road ascends in a more gentle way until we arrive at a mallín from where we can see Agostino Rocca Refuge. There we have breakfast and dinner. The overnight can be inside the Refuge or in tents.
DAY 2:
We get up early as the return boat sails from Lago Frías at 4:30 PM.
The road begins in the same refuge with a descent that crosses a beautiful lenga forest.
Arriving at the end of the descent we can see the front of the Frias glacier. Here begins a small stone path downhill until we reach the Frias River that drains from the glacier with an impressive view.
We cross the river and from this point, we can notice how the vegetation begins to transform into a Valdivian jungle full of flowers and some ancient alerces.
After this, we cross the Frías River and we border the river until we reach Puerto Frías. From there we take a boat to Puerto Blest. And there we take another one that goes across Nahuel Huapi lake and takes us to Puerto Pañuelo. Here the driver will be waiting for us to take the passengers back to their hotel.
